What will be the cost of your prints....?

eg. If I ordered one 8x12 print from you what would it cost you to get it delivered..?

NO point saying £10 If the print costs you £2 and the postage costs you £4

That would mean you made £ 4

Just to get you thinking...!!!

at the moment, im charging £35 for 16x12 and i make a good profit... probs could make more but im still trying to build up a customer base.

just as an example.

The trouble is if you charge £35 for a 16 x 12 and thats all you sell from a portraiat session then that is not a good profit.

Say for the sake of arguement the print costs you £2 and postage £4 thats £29 profit, but from that £29 you've got to get to and from the client, set up your lights, pay for and maintain your kit, buy insurance, advertise etc. etc. Its not a great profit. You need to aork out what all these costs are before you calculate your costs

If you look at the people running profitable portrait businesses they all talk about minimum spend per session - how much they need to make per client not how much the mark up a size of print.
