Hi All,

Have just spotted this auction on Ebay. Just go on ebay and search 250813949626 it will come up Sony Alpha 200+addition lens. Can someone give me any advise on what it is worth if I decided to bid on it. Im only a mere beginner and want a cheap start into the world of Photography.

I don't think the original alphas were very good compared to the canon and nikon rivals of its day, that said the price on ebay follows along with that, they seem to be going for £200ish with a kit lens, not sure how much extra that tamron is going to end the auction at.

Looks like a Nikon D40x ends at around or a little more on ebay, a good bid on one of those would be my preference (and i'm a canon guy :D)
 
As you can tell from my name im a Sony Guy! Which is why I want a Sony ;)
What is the auction worth though if I was to have a cheeky bids?

Actually the A200 is quite a good starter camera. A lot of people have started with it (and most stayed with sony ;) ) so there must be something good about it.

i got one as my first DSLR and it served me very well for a year. I eventually upgraded to an A500 but it still gets used occasionally
 
Nice to hear they are a match for budget canon/nikon. But what is the 'kit' all worth?
£250?
 
Just dont rush into the first one you see on ebay, set your max bid, and if its not enough this time then it will be in the near future.
 
The A200 is a great beginner DSLR, I had one before switching to a Nikon D90. The kit seems to still go for around £200 or just under.
