Picked up a new lens yesterday, and been out and about with it today. Just had a quick look through the 100 or so pics I took and it seems the only thing I've managed to get it to do consistantly is to focus on the ground in front of whatever it was I had the camera pointed at. Is there a way of checking where on the pic the focus point is?
Possible focusing problem?

yeah, good point - D300 with a 70-200VRII, and PS Elements 5
I've got the chance to get out again tomorrow afternoon - are there any obvious tests I can try out to see if its something I'm doing wrong rather that it being the lens not focusing quite right?
