Possible new purchase

Hi all.

I am toying with buying a Panasonic FZ200 for ease of carriage/back up camera.

Wonder if anybody has any experiences, either good,bad, or indifferent with this particular piece of kit please.

Am thinking in paticular for taking to music concerts, easy to carry, 600mm focal length, and constant f2.8 aperture all seem to fit the bill.

I had quite a few Panasonic FZ models (FZ10, 20,27,35,48) before I got a dslr and I found them to be excellent. The build quality was very good and the features and controls were easily accessible. The 'Shutter Lag' had got shorter with almost every model and by the FZ48 it was fairly minimal. From what I've seen of the FZ200 the IQ looks pretty good, even at the extremes, and the O.I.S. is supposed to be excellent but I have heard that the FZ200 is a bit fiddly to access the features, switching to manual and changing aperture etc, but I suppose it depends on what you're used to. After being used to the ease of using a dslr I'd probably struggle with any other type of camera now anyway but if I had to sell of my dslr gear I'd certainly look into another Panasonic FZ model, or a Canon SX50 HS.
