Hey guys, Just a quick question

Ive got a 400d, 430EX II & the Yong Nuo Wireless Flash Trigger

Now i know that if im using the wireless falsh trigger it wont read TTL so i was wondering if its possible to connect the flash to to the camera, take a picture using TTL then find out on the camera what power the flash used so i can then connect it via the wireless flash and set it manually to the TTL settings to get me around the power i need to be to correctly expose.

Basically is it posssible to read the TTL information direct off my 400D?

Many Thanks :D

The flash power level will probably be stored in the EXIF data somewhere but I very much doubt if it's the kind of information you'll get the camera to tell you on the rear display.

I think the easiest way to get it right it to trigger your flash wirelessly on half power then make adjustments up or down from there depending on the results you're seeing in the camera.

Shooting on camera in TTL is going to require a different power level to shooting manually off camera because I assume the direction and distance from the subject will change so you are better off with trial and error anyway.

no way i know of and i also know that high speed sync will lower the flash out of the manual range anyway. You will aslo tend to find it wont be in the adjustments you can acheive on flash even down to +/- 1/3 of a stop.
