Hey guys,

Looking at buying a 550D for my sister, canon 550d body with box and accessories - i touched the sensor tryin 2 remove a speckle of dust and have made it blurry, other than that the camera is less than a yr old and in excellent condition.

I was wondering is it possible to remove the blur on the sensor?

theres quite a few tutorials on how to clean the sensor on a 550d - try a search - or even a youtube video

Nice, cheers guys.

I could even keep the 550D for myself and give her my 1000D.

not sure she would see that as an equivalent exchange
checkout the canon service centres - they should give you a quote

Its fairly easy to do the clean yourself just be gentle, put the cam in manual sensor clean mode, take the swab, gentle and being careful to do the whole screen methodically, take a clean swab to clean it off, Id repeat it a couple of times, going in opposite directions, good as new so long you didnt apply unnecessary pressure or scrub :naughty: thats all the camera shop will do only you will be relieved of a fair bit of cash, just be careful dont apply undue pressure and no scrubbing

If its still smudged after a wet clean (i had oil on my old mk3) get a lens pens sensor pen. Mine came up spotless after that. Remember the sensor has a filter over it to protect it so your not actually touching the sensor itself.
