Hi guys,

I have the possibilty of purchasing a Canon 5D from a friend at college. After trying to find the difference between this and the 5D Mark II, I am not really seeing any big differences.

Is the 5D full frame? Are there any big issues with the Canon 5D that I am missing?

Sorry if this is a repeated question, just I think this camera might be about to go quite quickly.

Yep HD video capture, much higher resolution and greater ISO range..

It is a cracking body and you will get some great results with it...How much do they want for it??
 
Sorry to hijack, but can you get the ISO to show constantly on the top plate?
 
I have a 5D (mk1) and a 1DSlll. Use the 5D regularly when larger files are not needed. Camera provides good clean images and deserves good quality glass to compliment it.

Where have you been looking Vicky? :thinking:

5D and 5D2 are basically the same full frame cameras, but the 5D2 has the best sensor currently available, 21mp (getting on for double) and arguably better than even the 1Ds3 (newer processing).

5D II has sensor cleaning. And as far as the 5D is concerned - every little helps.

Sorry for the late reply. Thats the girl that was selling it just got back to me and its gone :razz:

She was selling it for £650 which I thought was pretty reasonable for full frame :shrug:

I have used the mark II a lot through college and its bloody fantastic but cant really see me getting the money to buy it just yet so thought it was better to buy the mark I while I had some cash. :thinking:
