Potentially Stupid Question on Focal lengths on 4/3rds and 1.6crops

what is the equivalent focal length on a micro 4/3rds to a canon 7d with a 10mm? looking at getting a pen or panny GF and want to know if i'll get equivalent field of view...

8mm on 2x gives the same FoV as 10mm on 1.6x (1.6x 10 = 16, 16/2 = 8)
 
The Panasonic 8mm is a fisheye, the only other real choice is the 7-14mm which is close to £850.

There may be some manual focus lenses knocking around from the likes of Voigtlander.

ok thanks. im thinking of ditching my (not used often) 10-20 to fund GF or Oly purchase - but sods law will dictate that i'll want a wide angle at some point
 
The 14mm f/2.5 is very good and Olympus has just bought out a 12mm f/2 but that's about £730!! nice though!!

Olympus also do a 9-18mm (35mm equivalent focal length: 18-36mm) f4-5.6 which is a very good lens and will fit either the Panny or Oly. Cost about £460ish

What about the oly zuiko 9-18mm?
Half the the price of the 7-14mm and it fits on the panny I believe.

Thought the widest 135 rectilinear was 12mm, which would probably look odd on a small body.

As others have said, the best choices would likely be the new Olympus 12mm or more equivalent to your 10-20 would be the Olympus 9-18 -- the 7-14 is better regarded but a lot bigger and expensive.
