Yes
hi I'm sure this has been asked before but here goes

I have a wedding coming up and would like to use my interfit strobe for outside lighting and some inside shots with a soft-box

I was thinking of using a 800 VA UPS Energy Protector
with the following spec

please use following link

http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=28650

I can't afford to buy a dedicated power supply as I am doing this wedding on the cheap for a friend. (just ink and paper will be invoiced)

I will be using two camera's one with a metz flash and the other with the inter fit

Hi James,

Welcome to TP! Forgive me if I'm way off here mate, but the device that you link to doesn't look like a power supply to me.

Is your interfit head a compact/monobloc? Meaning it plugs it straight into the mains for power?

If so, it doesn't look like the gubbins in the link is going to do the job.

yes all three of my studio heads are plug in to the mains
and the

is to run a computer/appliance should you have a power cut (so you don't lose your info )

Have a look at this

Tomas I am sure you do not need a genny

I'm not suggesting that James needs a generator mate, I'm merely expressing my concern that the item in the link he posted may not power a head correctly.

I have read the thread and this is what gives me concerns

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1708545&postcount=38

and also the blog post that you've linked to has this at the top of the page:

'WARNING! This unit uses a stepped approximation to a sinewave, not a pure sine wave and may damage the capacitors in some strobe units'

I'm no expert when it comes to electricty, just putting forward what has been previously discussed to help the OP.

For my requirements, yes, it appears a generator is a good alternative ;)

I have a generator but a bit loud i have seen this link and youtube video how ever that power supply is close two 200.00 in the uk

As I've mentioned James, I'm not convinced that the item in the link you posted is going to work, I don't know for a fact though, just trying to help.

I have found this link
and I am convinced he is using a inter fit strobe
http://artistip.com/blog/diy-battery-pack-part2.html

and I am convinced he is using a inter fit strobe. So I think the truss 800 VA UPS Energy Protector will work( I may go up to 1000 VA UPS
