Powermac G5 with 1D classic files?

Has anyone from back in the day used a dual 1.8 Ghz G5 with a EOS-1D RAW files? They are mega small and i was wondering what the performance is like with Lightroom 2?

if youre thinking of buying a G5 i wouldnt bother, although theyll run lightroom 2 they wont run any new software now everything is made for the intel macs, plus theyre prone to running very hot and/or the liquid cooling leaks.

theyre not small either..

I'm not that botherd about new software I use Iphoto 05 Right now on a 500mHz G4 A G5 will be like a godsend to me Only the liquid cooled ones and prone to big problems and even those it isn't that common , Liquid cooled start at the dual 2.5ghz i think

There was a big thing about it a few years ago, Liquid leaking and blowing up PSU's and logic boards.

The only reason Apple went intel in the first place was because they couldn't make a G5 laptop because of heat issues.

forgot to mention, I use a G5 tower at work, running Quark Express, photoshop CS2, I have no issues at all

the best bang for buck one is the quad 2.5ghz its water cooled but still a monster machine, it will run upto and including, lightroom 2, CS4, office 2008. still a substantial set of software it will happily run.

PS the leaking thing blown out of all proportion, only happened to a small amount.
