Prepare for dumb 5DmkII questions...

Wilkinsons sent me a fedex tracking number and the fedex site doesn't recognise it. How annoying is that? :)

Have to just assume the number is wrong and wait.....

Grrr

It might not start tracking until it is at the Fedex depot. So, it may have been collected by Fedex, and they will have given the store a tracking number, but it won't actually have anything to track until it has been 'signed in' or whatever they call it at the depot. I would try again in a few hours.

Got the number yesterday afternoon so thought it would be on the system today if it is going to be delivered. Unless they didn't actually give it to fedex yesterday.

Hey Rob, try putting the number into the UPS and DHL or maybe City Link sites.
I've had deliveries from a different courier to the one designated in the past.
Gotta be worth a go !

Gave in and phoned them in the end. Big box in the middle of the page on the fedex UK site is international only but doesn't say it. Another link for UK tracking shows it is 'out for delivery' :)

Been here 2 hours now. Battery is still charging :(

User manual for live view and movies is making my head hurt. I'm sure it will be simple when I can turn the camera on!

Left the 580EX II in its box for now. Not sure which one to keep mk1... mk2 or keep both. Mk1 has done all I need up till now. Don't know what I'd use 2 flashes for.

I'm sure that either 580 mk1 or mk2 will sell quicky should you decide to do so :)

Live View and movies is pretty simple really... the manual just makes it sound more complicated than it actually is

Shot #1 had to be the wife.... #2 was my daughter..... and as both would be horrified if i posted them here is shot #3

At 6400 iso F4 1/90th. White balance sorted and resized in Lightroom but no noise reduction - luminance and colour at 0.

Think I'll leave video to tomorrow :)

Nice kittey you have there:)
And is 5d2 not great at high ISO !!

I'm thinking 6400 compares to 1600 on the mk1. Maybe somewhere between 1600 and 3200..... so yes seems good.
Need to go find and enable iso expansion now and try the really high settings sometime.

Read elsewhere that the 5D2 underexposes 1/2 a stop and that does seem to be the case.. not that i'm too worried about that.

Lots of settings still to sort out to work 'my way' yet.
