Prey Project

Project prey is security software for your PC/Laptop/tablet/phone.
This is how it works:
download and install the software
register
simple :)
This is what happened when i registered my laptop as missing to see how it performed:
Got an email
within the email was a GPS fix of where my laptop was (my house)
(this is done by network isp location or something but not an internal GPS device as i dont have one so will only work when the device goes online)
There was a picture of the user (Me) Taken discreetly by the built in webcam
And finally a screen shot of what i was doing (my facebook page with my name on)
reports can be set to different intervals and it was a stolen laptop recovered due to this software during the august riots that bought this to my attention on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio2
I would say its definately as good as it sees, especially for free
