Looking at prices for Nikons on Amazon. Can anyone explain these:

D3000 + 18-55mm kit - 346.99

which was replaced by the

D3100 + 18-55mm kit - 362.50

"only" 15.51 difference. I would have thought the price difference would be a bit more than that considering that the 3100 is a fair jump from the 3000. But is it 15 quid better VFM?

then we have the

D3200 + 18-55 mm kit - 468.75. Fair enough as this is a bigger jump from the 3100, but to muddy things further:

D5100 + 18-55mm kit - 467.06 - not a lot of difference price-wise from the 3200 tho' it is cheaper (!!). Here is me thinking that the 5100 is a step up from a 3xxx or does it just mean that the 5100 is dated compared to the 3200?

Street price on Amazon is determined by a lot of things, including how many they have to get shot of and how big a discount the seller gets on their trade account. Are all these prices from the same seller?
