Prickly customer

Ok it's a hedgehog, not a particularly fantastic foto, I know. However it's the first foto taken with my nice new 300 f4. Also the first hedgehog i've seen for a few years. He was walking slowly and rather oddly a little like some lizards do where front & opposite hind leg work in unison when stalking prey.

Did wonder about that, it was around 2pm when I took this. I reckon it must be hungry, though it's been a good year for slugs n snails round here.

Generally, if a hedgehog is out in the day, it is injured or ill.
