I use a 35mm f1.8 on my D7000, and its a lovely lens. Under your budget as well. Alternatively, you could get the 50mm f1.8 if you wanted something slightly longer. Depends what you want to use it for really. The 50mm would probably be too long for taking shots indoors if thats what you were planning.
Sorry nick firstly , focal lenghth 35mm to 50mm ...........subjects will be portraits of my grandson and dogs indoors and outdoors .............been looking at 50mm 1.8g but no sure because its more for FX i believe
