Sorry, for what is probably a really really stupid question to more accomplished photographers.......
Why is a "prime" lens considered so much better (and much more expensive) than a zoom with similar max range.......... just that i am thinking if you are shooting towards the upper end of the magnification range, maybe 450 fits the frame better than 500 but if yoou had a 500 prime, (i dunno, imagine a plane coming straight at you........then possibly cannot move in relation to the object you are trying to shoot, quick enough relevant to the moving object)
However, for my K-m, a siggy 150-500 is about £600-£700, whilst a 500 prime is around £4500. Diffence between f-stops is 5-6.3,compared with 4.
