Hey all
Can anyone give recommendations on the best printer for photos ? Wireless would be good too.I have a budget of about £200 and want one that produces real top notch quality.
Also is laser any good?
Thanks a lot
Joe

To be honest £200 will not give you top notch quality, some would argue that £2000 would not either. £200 will give you acceptable quality, for small frames around your house. Regarding laser printers, not for photographs.

Oh ok thanks.so unless you have 2 grand and upwards then don't bother getting one unless its for tiny pictures around the house? Thinking about It that's allI want it for actually haha.So I can hand house pictures of the new baby around the family.
Sorry I should have put down what I wanted it for.

Thank you very much mate, was actually looking at this in another thread earlier so think I will go for it.

Joe let me know what you think of it when you get it. I've got my finger poised on the buy it button too.

If you are doing mono as well you need one with the blacks and greys inks too... not wireless but consider an amateur used Epson R2880. Print quality is exceptional and is highly regarded in photo club circles. Buy one fully working, no clogged heads.

I've had an Epson printer in past and didn't really get on with it, changed a couple of years ago to a Canon Pixma printer and the difference for me was significant, much better print outs and much more stable. Showed FIL difference and he was sold and swapped his printer a weeks or 2 after...

Just another option to look at...

I have the epson 1400 which is the previous version to the 1500W it's a great colour printer but not for B+W as the above poster says
Get a continuous ink system for cheaper operating costs and check out ink express for both I highly recommend their inks no clogging after 3 years use

Thanks a lot for the advice Dave. The continuous ink system is really interesting. Is it much cheaper than cartridges ? Also would a novice like me be able to change the inks or is it a specialist job? And do the inks sit next to the printer or are they fitted in the printer in place of the normal cartridges?
Thanks again
Joe
