I have recently bought a new PC and have calibrated my monitor, but when i print photos on my printer they are dark...

How do i calibrate my printer to my computer ???

Thanks

no simple way of doing this unless you buy something like the colorMunki that profiles you monitor AND printer.

One point to check is what brightness of your monitor. Your calibration software should help you do this. Typically a setting of between 120-140 Cd/M2 is normal.

You may also find that the printer software allows you to make some global adjustments for colour and density. Ideally you should be using a colour managed workflow. However this means that your imaging software needs to be CM aware, such as Photoshop.

It's not rocket science, but you need to set up your system correctly. Depending on your equipment you may be able to get away with manufacturers "caned" profiles. Epson and Ilford seem to be reasonably good.
