I have a very very annoying printer problem please help me someone before the printer gets killed.:help::nuts:

rite then i have an HP all in one (not the best but it'll do for now) i think its the F2180, anyway everytime i go to print out a 6x4 photo or any photo i cant get it to print it without a border and an annoying 12mm white tab on the bottom (even when the ''borderless'' option is selected) it does this on all photos and will not print out ''full page'' a4 photos either i get the same problem with them, also i have tried inputing the paper sizes in myself. its really starting to get annoying now as ive wasted 15 sheets of a4 and god knows how many sheets of 6x4.:bang::bang::bang:

thanks
Gibbo.

I think the 12mm border at bottom you are referring to is the HP Official paper - it has a 'handling strip' at the bottom for you to hold the print with until it is dry, then you simply tear along the 12mm serrated edge!
Are you using official HP gloss paper?
Not sure about the A4 problem though

Chapter 7 Page 36 of your instruction manual

Print a borderless image
Borderless printing lets you print to the top, bottom, and side edges of 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6
inch) HP Premium Plus Photo Papers with a tear-off tab. When you remove the tear-off
tab, the printed image is borderless and extends to the edges of the paper.
TIP: You can automatically adjust the settings in the Properties dialog box to print
a borderless 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 inch) photo on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper. Click
the Printing Shortcuts tab, and then, in the Printing Shortcuts list, select Photo
printing-borderless. You can also set the options manually as described in the
following procedure.
To print a borderless image
1. Remove all paper from the input tray, and then load the photo paper print side down.
2. On the File menu in your software application, click Print.
3. Make sure the HP All-in-One is the selected printer.
4. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties,
Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
5. Click the Features tab.

6. In the Resizing Options area, click the appropriate paper size from the Size list.
If a borderless image can be printed on the specified size, the Borderless check box
is enabled.
7. In the Basic options area, click a paper type in the Paper Type drop-down list.
NOTE: You cannot print a borderless image if the paper type is set to
Automatic or to a type of paper other than a photo paper.
8. Select the Borderless printing check box if it is not already checked.
If the borderless paper size and paper type are not compatible, the HP All-in-One
software displays an alert and allows you to select a different type or size.
9. Click OK, and then click Print or OK in the Print dialog box.

oh i had a look on there earlier and i couldnt find anything. but thanks. i dont think it will print without the tab but ive managed to get it to print a 6x4 borderless but with the tab. but a4 i still get a tab and a white border.

When it prints with the tab i'm sure its for certain paper that you tear off the blank edge
