I'm after a decent printer, one that i can network (?), and that the replacement cartridges arent an
arm and a leg. It's for my daughters to use for their school and college work so it's will use some
stock of ink. It doesnt need to be able to print photographic quality as i dont print my own anyway.
Up to about £100 if poss

Any ideas ?

Cheers

A printer that the replacement cartridges don't cost an arm and a leg! I think you have more chance of finding a Unicorn in your back garden than one of those! Hahahahaha

You can network any printer through windows XP or vista. Just needs the PC into which the printer is plugged into to be turned on.

There are lots of basic printers for under £100, try an HP or epson all in one.

If it is not for photo's what about the new kodak printers as the cartridges are only abou £8 each

I use the Canon Pixma ip4500 (now replaced by the ip4600). You can get aftermarket cartridges for about £3 each or do what I've done and fit a CSS ink supply. Cracking value for money, and cheap enough - I think the 4600 sells for about £80

The only criticism is that it isn't an A3 printer.....

I have the ip4500 and am very pleased with it, genuine inks are a little pricey, but I've had problems in past using an Epson with aftermarket ones, so now only use genuine ones

i bought a Canon ip4600, which is about to be replaced by the ip4700. 90 or so quid from PC World and it's great. if you want to network it, you can get any USB print server box.

carts are 12 quid each.

Just got an HP Photosmart C4580 all-in-one - £50 from Amazon or PC World. Wireless networking built in and high-capacity catridges available if you're doing lots of printing

This months Digital Camera has a review of printers from £79 to £600 I think.
