Hi there

I'm just looking at options of what printer I would need to print my images. The printer would need to print to size A2, so it's not going to be cheap (c. £2000.00).

With printers using different methods to print, I am at a loss of what I should be looking at. What I need is high quality printing and fade resistant. Does this mean I would be looking at a dye sublimation printer? I gather that this should be the type of printer I would be looking at.

Of the dye sub printers I've seen so far (and I've only just started to look into this) are...

Canon imagePROGRAF iPF710 (though this is A0, which is too big, an A2 version would be more ideal)

Canon imagePROGRAF iPF610. Slightly smaller than the above, but doesn't specify whether it prints A2.

Trying to avoid CMYK if possible. If anyone can shed any light on what I should be considering it will be a great help. Thank you.

Hmm not something I can help but with that sort of budget you might consider going along to this. Short notice I know.

Not sure if those printers are going to best sited for your work. They seem to be designed mainly for CAD work. For large format work you may be better off looking at conventional ink jet machines

have a look at the Epson 4880, 4450 or 3880
