Printing and calibration.

I've been using PhotoBox for sometime now. Been very happy with the whole process of uploading, paying and prompt delivery.

However, more recently the exposure of the prints seem to be hit n miss. In one particular instance I complained to PhotoBox and they agreed that their 'auto-correction' software was to blame and reprinted for free. In all
honesty this made little or no difference.

So, my question to you guys - is there a way to guarantee calibration? If you think you have cracked this problem, how did you crack it and which printing company do you use?

Cheers.

I sorted it by a) not using photobox, b) not allowing any auto-correction to be done, c) calibrating my monitor and using a colour managed workflow.

I do know Photobox don't use profiles (more's the pity). You can disable auto-correction at Photobox though. Have you found an alternative to Photobox that supply profiles in order to use a managed workflow (at reasonable cost!).

Thank you.

DSCL, same printer (Fuji) but with profiles and, I believe, cheaper prices.
