After a bit of advice. I recently went to a vintage car run to document the event and obviously captured a lot of number plates in the process.
Im planning on putting all my photographs onto my website and also making a book which I will be selling and forwarding the proceeds to the charity that the event was in aid of, British Heart Foundation, which has all been agreed with the event organisers.
I did speak to a few of the car owner and they were ok with me printing plates but obviously I couldnt speak to everyone there.
Should I blank the plates, and potentially ruin the shot or leave them all in and face any consequences after, hoping that the fact that its in aid of charity will come to my defence?
I feel this is an all or nothing asin if I blank one plate, I either need to blank them all or exclude it from the book all together.
As far as Im aware there is no legal obligation for me to blank any plates at all, however Im a nice guy and dont want to upset anyone and also I am unsure if there was any stipulation within the literature that said anything along the lines of 'upon signing up to the event you are aware that photographs of you, your car and number plate may be printed'. Ive emailed the organisers though to see if there was anything in there though.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
