Hopefully I have the right section for this post?

Can anyone please help me :bang: - I'm getting 100's of feint yellow lines and sometimes even blue ones on my prints.

I have changed the colour ink cartridge and cleaned the sections of the printer that insert the cartridge but still no luck.
I have also checked the nozzles, alignment and so on in the printer preferences and even on the test/check sheets I'm getting yellow lines.

Please Please help its driving me nuts!:'(

I gather you are not getting the normal test print after a cleaning cycle? You should get all colours and black printing across the top of the sheet with no gaps. It's likely you've got a bad head clog. It's more effective if after 3 cleaning cycles it's not fixed, to turn off the printer, leave a short while, then try again. This will guzzle your ink though. Are you using your normal brand of cartridges or are these non Epson from a new manufacturer?

You can often clear obstinate head clogs by mixing together some ammonia and isopropyl alcohol, folding a paper towel so it's around an 1" wide, soak it in the mix, then lay it in the bottom of the printer where the heads pass over it. Push it down and slide the carriage over it. If the head is locked and won't move, turn the printer on, then as the head moves to initialise, pull the mains lead. Leave the head over the paper towel for a while, then work it back and forth over it. Then try another head cleaning cycle and test. If not cleared, resoak the paper towel and leave it under the head over night. To slow its evapouration, put the printer in a black bin bag and tape up. Has this printer had a history of clogs or had it been left unused for a long time? Could you post an image of the test print?

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your reply. I am getting the normal test print with no gaps but on the same sheet im also getting the yellow lines right from left to right.

I am using epson print cartridges but your right that the printer has not been used for a while and when it is used it only gets very occasional use. Where can I get ammonia and isopropyl alcohol from?

Hi all,

Does anyone know the mix ratios for ammonia and isopropyl alcohol so that I can de-clog my printer heads?

Not too much ammonia I'd suggest, try a one in ten mix to begin with, not that I've ever used it?
