Printing Problems

Sorry if this is the wrong place couldn't really think of anywhere else to put it but anyway...


I've found that if I want to print out any of my photos I run into a problem. I usually print at A4 and have an HP C4280 printer. I like to put a border on some of my images so I take the original photo into photoshop and set it up with an A4 internation file and have a play about adding border etc. Problem is, is that when I go to print the image there is about 8-10mm left on the end of the page that has no ink although the full photo has been printed, its as if its not 'real' A4. It's doing my head in because I either have to get the guillotine out or else use a white border making it less noticeable.

Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong?

Check to see if your printer has an option for borderless printing somewhere in the properties window when you select print. If not I suspect it won't be possible to avoid the white border completely due to the way the paper is fed.

Hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs here, but A4 is slightly more square than the 3:2 ratio of most D-SLRs so you must either crop to bit to get A4, or get some white border. Maybe you've done that - not certain from your post so please forgive me
