... make the world of difference! They have a whole new lease of life in a frame :)

Ok, Ill admit the photos of the photos are rubbish, but thats not the point :D Done these for the in-laws as xmas boxes, what do you think to them?

Just one thing that's distracting me though.......and that's daddy's (?) hand. Just doesn't look right to me......just my humble opinion :)

Fair enough, you are entitled to it... but TS! They've already been printed and framed :p

It's true, I picked up some wildlife prints today....15x10 lustre...lovely jubbly! :D

Great pics & the ironing board makes a great display table. lol

Yup, I may be old-fashioned, but until the print is actually mounted and on display (even if I am the only one to see it) it is not "complete" as a photograph.

I can't agree more....am on the look out for frames now, or perhaps a portfolio, I obviously didn't think this through

I am starting to think the same, Ill certainly be getting more photos framed from now on :)

I must admit that I tend not to frame much now. They just get mounted and put around the house at various places. They normaly stay there for a couple of weeks, untill either my daughter says "What ever is THAT!" or I print another bunch that I like.

Can't have that, they look great:thumbs: and I reckon they'll be delighted with these. Not sure about the ironing board stand though.

I really like the white frames with B&W and I've never considered using a white frame before but they look superb.

Hope the in-laws don't read this though, they might find out santa doesn't really exist.

Dee, are these the ones you posted a few days ago? I thought they looked good then, but framing them makes them look even better than they did before.

You have a month to gaze and adore, then wrap them ready for delivery! It may quite probably be their best Christmas present this year.

Well Done!

One more thing...where did you get the frames from? Did you do the mounting yourself?

I was just thinking if I had made the right decision with regards to the white frame! You've made my mind up, thank you :)

Yup, these are the ones! I cant wait for them to open them Xmas Day, honest to god, I would rather see the look on someones face when they open a present from me, rather than me opening stacks of presents! I really hope they like them :)

The single print frames were from... wait for it... Ikea! £5 each and came with the mounts inside.

The three way frame was also £5, but from Matalan. I am not 100% happy with this one as the apertures are EXACTLY 7x5, meaning the prints are very snug, shame really. Ill certainly be going back to Ikea, their frames really are superb, and very cost effective too

Thanks. I've been using Hobbycraft mostly for my frames so next time I can face the crowds I'll have a look at Ikea.

I can honestly say these Ikea frames are really well made, I think their swedish name is Ribba :D

I think you are right, "They have a whole new lease of life" they look great.
I not sure the people will notice the frames, just the images.
I also agree with sportysnaps

"it's nice to see them set free" from the computer - we did this last year and brought a lot of frames and filled 2 rooms with photos

These look great as photos and as gifts I'm sure they will be much appreciated. The white frames are excellent, I'll be getting some of them right rapid. I've got framed pictures up everywhere and change them as I realise how bad they are as I (hopefully) improve.

Andy

I purchase ALL of my frames from ikea.

The Ribba range covers 4 - 5 different colours in a wide range of sizes and they all come with mounts which you can either use or not.

Glad you all like them! Stringy, Ill be going back to Ikea before Xmas for some more, its not something I can do on the spur of the moment mind, our nearest Ikea is a 60 mile round trip :p

Lovely shots there Betty and nicely processed too by the looks

It's great seeing how far you've come on since you first posted images on TP

And YES - get them printed - and BIG

A4 is the easiest as it's closest to your actual image shape and there are still plenty of decent frames around for A4 prints

Anything decent as an A4 though looks ace as a 20x16

DD

Thanks DD! I promise I am going to get more printed now, Ive only ever printed one image A4 as a present for my mum, but it never got framed and is sat gathering dust :(

Hey ho, off to Ikea this weekend for more frames :D

Try Wilkos (Wilkinsons) too - they have a range of decent frames for sod-all money, and you can view (even buy, but only do that for reorders so you know exactly what you're getting) online too

This is a Wilkos frame... £1.50!!!! I do pop in there from time to time as well :D

LMAO that is funny as **** love it
i have never printed out one of my photos :( its bad i no, i have put them on photo papaer from my printer but not done properly
i am going to do some pics for the christmas presents this year though ;)

I was talking to one of my mates earlier about getting a load of frames from Ikea over Xmas and getting some photos hung around my flat.

Oh my god, they are having them this afternoon! Where did the time go?!?!?!

I hope they like them. Ive also got 80 shots on CD for everyone as well, so we are doing a slideshow as well :)

I'm sure they will treasure them. It means a lot more getting a well thought out present like your photos than a hastily picked up item from a shop.

I just wish Ikea did their bigger frames in the sizes my newly found pro printer does the images in.
