PRINTING

Do you all do your own printing or do you send your prints off to be done, just wondered and where the best place to send them would be.

most people i believe send there prints to a lab and only print at home for proofing. it works out much cheaper to get a lab to do it but when it comes to getting sizes A3 and above then home printing has its advantage. i however use my local lab in town; max speilmann, ive never been let down by them and their prints are superb not to mention i've also got work experience there at the beginning of june for a week.

If I have only a few 6x4 prints to do, I do them at home, if lots, I take them to whichever high street place is doing the best deal at the time. For A5 or larger, I do the printing at home. I also take a little DyeSub printer on holiday so I can send back my own photos as postcards. IIRC, they work out at about 17p each - not cheap for a 6x4 print but cheap for a postcard. (The little printer is a Canon Selphy CP710 and the ink/paper packs came from 7day)

I do both - can't print larger than A4 at home and can't justify purchasing a new larger printer at this point
