Yes
If I take files to my local shop, There proccess determines any manipulation it seems, How can I get prints from the shots I have "changed".

Simply save the files u have "changed" as JPEGs or whatever other file type your local shop accepts. What software do you use to precess your pics?

Save at 240 or 300 pixels per inch and at the physical size you want the print to be, ie 6 x 4, 8 x 10 etc, then take the memory card or stick to the shop or use one of the self print machines some places have.

Thanks guys, I use Elements, I know how to change the image size so will look at the info you have given me regarding pixels, Should any changes be done after re-sizeing or before?

Personally resizing would be the last thing I would do, always do your PPing on a file that contains the most information.

OK, If i interpret right, I would carry out any changes before i re-size the image? How could i determine how much sharpening to apply, When i re-sized the image became so small I could not see the pic well enough to see any change, Maybe I need to look at a tutorial.

Sharpening should be the last bit of post prossessing (changes) you shoud do before you resize. The amount of sharpening depends on how good the shot was in the first place ie. exsposure, it will also depend on the camera body and on the auality of the lens in the most part. What program do you use to sharpen?

I would not use this approach personally.

When I am resizing I do the resize after any other forms of editing including maybe a first sharpening pass - but then finish sharpening after the resize.

This way I am sharpening exactly what will be seen/printed - because when you reduce the image size you loose some of the detail that has undergone sharpening.

I was only goign on the OP stating the resized images being small and that he couldnt see the changes occuring on the image.

I have Elements which has the facility to apply filters such as sharpening,I had read somewhere to apply "changes" to the finished size of print but when I select either 9x13.5 or 13.5x9 the image shrinks to something like 2x1.The lens is the kit 18-55, Must admit I would like to get something sharper.
