Agreed , you could probably go darker in the sky with it being blue but other than that far far better than the colour.. Which i thought it would be

I like both of those shots, but the dodgy horizon spoils it for me. Straighten the horizon and you've got a perfectly acceptable shot which ever one you pick.

Looking at the houses , i'd say these fields are on a hill

You're possibly right, but I think I was looking at the clouds. They look a little wrong to me.

excellent stuff

the B and W version certainly has the edge , its made a big difference to the shot

I can see I'm going to be in the minority here. But I actually prefer the colour version of this one. The PRIVATE sign stands out far better and contrasts nicely with the blue sky.

I also love the red channel B/W one, as this again puts the punch back into it.

The sky is lovely, but I don't find enough to hold my interest in the whole image in the straight black and white version.

I'm more fond of the B&W version myself, which is odd as up until recently I didn't much like B&W!
