I thought these were an interesting set of short vids.

A selection of well known pro photographers (taken out of their comfort zone) to see what they can achieve with a variety of cheap and in some cases 'silly' cameras.

David "The Strobist" Hobby gets a Buzz Lightyear 'toy' camera

Chase Jarvis - the man who coined "the best camera is the one you have with you" gets a Lego Camera

Philip Bloom 'Barbie Cam'

Douglas Sonders gets a broken Holga with no viewfinder

Zack Arias gets a red compact

Vincent 'tilt and shift' Laforet gets film and a Lensbaby

Two more episodes......

Graham Uden photographed the Afghanistan and Iraq wars

Chase's was a good one - I also enjoyed Zack Arias

They really entered into the spirit of it and you can see the grey matter working.

Seen the Chase and Zack ones. Will check the rest. Novel idea, but fun.

Will definitely be watching these in the morning, having a night of insomnia, but the sound is disturbing him :bonk:

BTW, See my sig, don't forget, TP has its own version :D

Looks like fun.

Good fun.

Nice to see the photographers joining in at the risk of making themselves look silly.

Not sure who got the shortest straw with the worse camera to use.

I was going to send my friend a link to this thread as it was handy to have the videos in one place.

Videos are still available for those who know how to cut and paste into youtube but any idea why the links in the first post are no longer displayed to just click and watch ?

Any help appreciated.

With a bit of luck, the above links should all work and be correct now :)

Yes, looks like that worked (vBulletin and xenforo forum software embed YouTube videos slightly differently, it just needed a small change to the bb code) :)

a few additional episodes added up top

ha - i do like this idea - i noticed that Jared Pollen did something like this the other day too but he used a d5500 (FRO Knows PHOTO) - if anyone on here has heard of him

I was watching a lot of Kai's reviews a while back and ended up watching all these cheap camera challenges. I liked how "The Strobist" used the cheap camera flash to trigger others, just shows what you can do with minimal kit.
