I have just got proshow gold to make my slideshows as my last software was carp:bang:

So what res do you all use in your slideshows:shrug: the reason I ask this is that while having a play I made i slideshow where the picture quality was reasonable on the tv, however when I watched it on my laptop it was pretty pants tbh.

I just grabbed some photos from my computer files so they would of been various sizes, but all 300dpi, dont know if this could be the problem:shrug:

In my workflow I run a batch process 900 pixels on long edge and Save As quality 10. I use these files for a number of things, a ProShow (Producer) slideshow being one of them.

In the slideshow itself, I sharpen ALL slides at +50.

How are you outputting the show? Output using the HD preset and it should look sharp (assuming your source jpgs are at least 720 or 1080 pixels high). DVD output will always look less sharp as the DVD res is much lower.

I was outputting on dvd, where is the hd preset? I have a blueray preset but that wont work on normal dvd.
 
I use Create Output > Video File (at the bottom) and from there I can select HD as a preset. I use Producer, not sure if that makes any difference. This will create an mpeg2 file in HD (an oxymoron I know) which I then run through handbrake to convert it into h264. I found proshow's own h264 output was dog slow and the quality not as good as HD mpeg2 > handbrake.
