Pro snapper q: any qualification?

If you're a pro, do you have any formal qualifications? On my last paper I don't think we had so much as an `A` level in photography between us on the picture desk. Have you found it helped/hindered/was irrelevant to your subsequent work?

Well I gained a first class pass in C&G for commercial and industrial photography, and the intermediate IIP but have never actually needed or even used them.

Perhaps if I had worked for others I might have done so but as a self employed photographer not needed.

And when I was working on cruise liners the company actually wanted examples of my work - the qualifications were regarded as superfluous.
