I dont want to print volume, its just for odd sizes really, and I dont want a scanner etc, I dont see why I need to pay for things I dont want/need.

So is there a good printer out there, for less than £100, that will JUST print, up to A4?

I've got the Canon Pixma IP4600, use it for office stuff and photos, find it very good. Think they're on the 4800 now though...

I can't fault my Canon IP4700 for the money - my only gripe is that black and white prints have a very slight tint to them, even when printing greyscale only, but that really is being picky.

The current model is the 4850, which takes different and, from what I've seen, slightly more expensive cartridges.
 
If you don't want to print pics, a laser printer is far, far cheaper to keep running. In fact, you may be better off printing at somewhere like DSCL for the occasional print.
 
thanks all, I keep looking at printers, and I keep coming back to the fact, its just cheaper to pay for the odd prints than buy a printer, but every now and then I want one in a hurry and then its an issue.
 
Def another vote for the Canon iP range. Under your budget and gives great results. I upgraded to 1 from an Epsom and the diff was huge straight out the box.

I'll def buy another when needs must
 
Another happy Canon ip4700 owner here.

Produces good quality pics reasonably fast, and a full set of genuine cartridges is only 'Ouch' rather than 'Arrrgh...' :lol:

Getting photos printed may be cheaper than doing it yourself, but when the kids come home and tell you they need some photos printed for school the next day that's not an option!
 
looks like its a cannon ip then, no more generic cartidges for me, I have had 3 printers in 5 years, the last one only lasted 3 months before it packed in but they wouldnt replace it as it had generic cartridges.

I've stuck with genuine Canon inks and had no issues at all, have had issues in past with an old printer and 3rd party inks - never again :nono:

Shop around and keep your eyes open on the internet for good deals on the inks
 
Yeah the canon range always get top marks in reviews.
 
Thanks everyon just picked up a 4850 from the classifieds.
