Prob with SD card??

My wife and i have my sons old Kodak Easy share C813 digi camera which takes SD cards. We took it on holiday and i popped in a SanDisk Ultra ll SD HC 15MB/s 8GB card. It has recorded to the card just fine as i can see the images on the camera's screen but i can not get my Mac or my Dell laptop (XP) to read the card. I have tried 2 different card readers and used the USB lead direct from the camera. It works with a std 1mb card just fine but for some reason not with the SanDisc card.

Is it not formatted correctly or something? What could be the problem. It does seem to be the card and not the camera.

You will need a card reader that can read hc sd cards. Nothing wrong with card just purely down to you need a card reader hcsd cards
 
Ah, that makes sence...but.. why won't the computer read the camera? Is that something to do with the HC bit?
 
I would have thought your pc (with correct software / drivers installed for your camera) should have downloaded pics from your camera - this is then acting as a card reader (although I have found a specific card reader does the job a lot faster). :thumbs:
 
usb devices sometimes have such problem, especially the cameras, mobile phones when connecting through usb cable. try a card reader

Dealextreme do those sdhc usb card reader dor something like 2 dollars delivered to UK.
