PROBLEM: Can't get Quick 'Release' Plate to be 'released' from my Camcorder. HELP

So I have a huge situation.

I remembered twisting my camcorder clockwise to get it tight.

Now, stupid me, kind of forgot how I untwisted it, so i continually (probably) twisted it to the right more and more and i knew it wasn't the right way
so i twisted it again to the left. then the right. I CAN'T GET IT OFF

Like, the top of the Quick Release Plate is literally SHEDDING because of me twisting it. I just simply want it OFF of my camcorder. I'm just... stupid enough not to know how :(

Help me? :help:
 
Hacksaw?


So are you saying you've over tightened it and cant get it off, or you've managed to cross thread it somehow and its just stuck?
 
Hacksaw. Not as silly as it sounds far cheaper to replace a qr plate then anything else

Hacksaw won't get the screw out of the bottom of the camcorder.

If you don't know how to tighten/loosen a screw i would forget about picking up a hacksaw :bonk:
 
If it's the type of hand screw, that flips down 90%, to allow you to loosen / unloosen, put something like a long nail thru it to give you extra leverage.

If it's not the above type then just ignore anything I've said :lol:
