Problem printing with my Epson P800

About 3 months ago I printed around 20 x A3+ prints without any real issues apart from one image that had what looked like a leaking ink nozzle. Today I tried to print another A3+ and it's a complete disaster ink everywhere. Any ideas what it could be.

You could try a nozzle cleaning cycle.
It may be the wiper blade needs a manual clean or replacement.

Sorry I can't help on that as I don't use Epson, but it may be a place to start. Good luck.
 
Is there a roller cleaning function on this printer?
 
That looks like the wrong paper weight has been selected. Rollers would leave streaks left to right (as seen on that photograph), head strikes as in that photo.
 
You probably do. Plain Paper will give a different head to paper distance to Photo Paper.
 
my Printer has thick paper settings. I firstly tried cleaning the print heads then set the paper thickness to thick, tried the same print.............smudges everywhere, I turned the thick paper setting off and it did exactly the same. We have a Espson service centre in Phuket so I will take it there and let them try and fix it............Thanks
 
Have you set the printer profile on your computer? , That model of printer could be over 10 years old now.
Time for a nice new printer :) (y)
 
The one thing that is a must is you need to print something at least once a week or more twice a week to
Keep the printer heads flowing ink or they will clog up / dry out
If you only print randomly best get them printed at a print shop this saves buying a printer.
You also need to decide on dye or pigment inks , Lots of reviews on YouTube

In summary, the problem was caused by ink drips under the print head. I cleaned under the print head, but after test printing, ink drips still persisted.

If the customer requires repair, there are three necessary parts to replace: Print Head, Ink Pump, and Ink Holder System. Epson Thailand is closed today. I will check the availability and price of the parts tomorrow.

Please note that if a repair is agreed upon, the customer will need to prepare a new ink cartridge and a new maintenance box for charging ink to the system.

My thinking is this. It’s a 10 year old printer if it’s going to cost more than £300 I think it might be better to buy a new A3+ printer rather than the A2 Epson P900 which is a little bit pricey for my current output
 
Ive had the P800 for quite a while, how have you found the P900, any major differences in real time experience.

The P903 is more compact and prints beautifully, (not to say the P800 didn’t) but as far as anything in your face to say it’s better or not I can’t say it is. One thing I like about the P903 is that you can load A2 fine art papers from the top. My P803 did a great job but when the print head started playing up after 10+ years of fun printing it was time to buy a new one.
