I dont know if you have a section for my camera so i opoligise if am i in the wrong area . My camera DSLR is a sony alpha 390 i have three lenses 2 came with MY OLD CAMERA A MINOLTA 35 mm SLR THE FIT . THE LENS that came with the SONY is ok in manual but when it is turned to auto it vibrates as if the lens is being prevented from turning ?

Not familiar with your camera, but does the vibration only happen when you press the shutter release ? If so, could it be the anti-camera shake mechanism.

Yes when Press the shutter .
The anti shake has not worked from almost day one !

The image stabilisation (anti-shake) on the A390 is in the camera body, rather than the lens, so I would be surprised if that is what is at fault here as it would apply with all lenses.

It sounds as if the AF gears may have broken - does the auto focus work with this lens?

Note that the kit lens is a fairly cheap item, so it is unlikely to be worth repairing (unless it's under warranty).

You can pick up s/h copies for <£100, or take it as an opportunity to get something better - a typical 'upgrade' would be to a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 or similar.

the standard kit lens for the A390 was the 18-55 SAM which has an in-lens motor.
(I note that your profile says 14-70, did you mean 17-70 which was a screw-driven kit lens?)
As faldrax says these lenses are cheap - s/h (often unused because the original buyer had a better lens) typically ~£50 so repairs are rarely economical.

Don't suppose that the body/lens are still in warranty?
If the SS didn't work from early on you should have had it repaired under warranty.
