Problem with Canon 70-300 IS

I've not used my Canon 70-300ml IS USM for 4 months or so, but now the Image stabilisation is flickering. It seems to be stuck and the image just flicks up or down as the lens achieves focus.

Any simple fixes or can you recommend anywhere good to send it in South London.
