Hi all,

This my first post on the forum and hope to benefit and contribute as much as I can.

I've been experiencing a problem with my camera (or it could be me). Whenever I take a picture and review it on the LCD screen straight after it looks really sharp but when i transfer the pictures to my computer the picture looks fuzzy and at times out of focus

Could anyone suggests any solutions or better technique?

The LCD on a camera is much smaller and has much lower resolution compared to a computer monitor, therefore it can be difficult to see if a photo is sharp on in focus. Have you tried zooming in to the photo when reviewing on your camera to check if it is sharp?
 
Would it be an idea to take the lcd screen out of the equation and take some well focussed test shots through the viewfinder while on tripod or similar to ensure stability, download images to see if they are sharp, at least you will see if camera is producing good images, which is the most important thing.

If you look at a 10mp image on a 3 or 4 inch screen its going to look sharp, but its really irrelevant how it looks on the lcd, as you'll never be viewing it so small on your pc or printout.
 
Another quick thought tubz, I assume that you have used the pc in question before for viewing photo's or are you new to digital photography? If so is your pc's display set to its highest screen resolution to be able to show pictures in all of their glory.

Also check to see if you have auto distortion correction turned on. The guys over at flickr confirmed that that feature blurs pictures considerably. Happens on my unit as well until I turned it off.
