Problem with Praktica mtl5b

I have a Praktica mtl5b in perfect condition. It works how it should and nothing bad has ever happened to it or with it, until today.

I snapped a photo, and the shutter closed but didn't, and so far hasn't opened. I tried taking another photo thinking it would force the shutter to open but it didn't work. I took out my film (which, luckily was brand new) and saw the closed shutter.

I can't figure out how to get it to open. Help me please:bonk:
 
I'm a little confused by what you've written here...
"the shutter closed but didn't, and so far hasn't opened" .....this would be correct. the shutter opens to take the shot and then closes again
"I took out my film...[snip]...and saw the closed shutter".....it should be closed at this time.

Have you got your "open" and "closed" terms swapped or have you got your "shutter" confused with your "aperture".

Sorry if I'm being a numpty here but I can't envisage what you're describing.

If you take the lens off the front, is the mirror down (you can see it's sitting at an angle of 45°) or up (it's edge on and you can see the shutter behind)?

Sounds a bit like you mean the viewfinder is black when you look through it and the mirror is stuck in the up position.

Yes, the viewfinder is black when I look through it. And now that you mention it, the mirror isn't there. I've seen the mirror before. It couldn't have fallen off because when I took the shot the lens was on. Not to mention the damera isn't letting me shoot right now
 
I figured out the problem, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Turns out that the mirror is raised against the part that leads to the viewfinder. I can bring it down, but it springs back up. I can't set it at the 45 degree angle it is supposed to stay at. If I hold down the mirror I can see through the viewfinder but obviously I can't photograph like that.
