Problem with SB-900

Morning all,

I've got a problem with an SB-900. It turns on ok but it won't fire!

Any ideas what might be wrong with it? I'll take it don to Nikon next week but before I do I thought I'd get some ideas from the wise old TP members….
 
you probably know this already but i ask. The flash is not over heat right? SB900 won't fire if is overheat .....
 
ok I have the same SB900, have you pressed ok and to get the menu up then turned the dial to reset?
Have you got the latest version 5.02? if not you can download it from the nikon site. Have you pressed the red test button? if that works then it could be the connection contacts to the camera need a clean.

Hi guys,

It's not overheated.

I've reset it and it doesn't fire when I press the usual test button.

Buggered if I know what's wrong with it!

When you push the test button dies it make any sound or do anything?

Has the tube gone?
 
My guess would be the tube or main capacitor gone.
