Hello, relatively new here :) I have had a search within the forums but cant seem to find anything..

I have a D200 and have recently gotten a seculine twin1 R3-UT infa red transmitter/reciever. Ive followed the instructions down to the letter, yet still cannot manage to get it to work, however i do know it works as my father had it prior to me and had no problems at all.

Am i missing something? Pulling whats left of my hair out trying to fathom whats wrong.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Don`t know the model at all, but has it got fresh batteries in it?

Does a D200 have an IR receiver? Or is there one with your IR kit?

As far as I know, the remote capabilities of D200's is through the 10 pin connector on the front of the camera. Of course, I could be wrong.....

Re-read your OP, you have a sender/reciever combo.... Is it compatible with the D200? How does it connect to the camera?

The reciever connects via the 10 pin socket on the front of the body and has a fresh battery. The combo is specificly for the D200. Ive had a look on the website too, hopefully to find a troubleshooting section with no luck either.

Many thanks in advance :)

edit: The actual model number is R3-UTN, the N indicating its specific for nikon, My father had a D200 also and it worked fine with his.

The red light on the reciever is on and the transmittor's white led lights up when pressed. They have been syncronised though this was done when my father originally bought it, and from what i can gather from the instructions this can only be done once.

Im stumped!

That answers my next question, as to whether both trigger and receiver were switched on (it happens ;)).

Do you have either another camera to try it on, or another 10-pin fit accessory to check that the fault doesn't lie with your camera?

At the moment i dont, I do have a MC-30 ordered from my local nikon dealer..will have to wait till that arrives to check.

Many thanks for your assistance though :)

My MC-30 arrived yesterday, which works fine...spent the next hour or so retrying the wireless remote, even bought new batterys just incase..

Still no luck, however problem is now solved due to the wired remote.
