Problems with gimp!!

Hi, I`ve just tried to download the gimp software which seems to have worked, but now I cant find it on the computer and nothing opens automatically. Have I done it wrong or does anyone know where to look on the computer to open it? Thanks.

type GIMP in the search,

start - search............

alternativly, drive C, program files, gimp.......... if it is in there, right click on the gimp icon in there and send a short cut to desktop.

What did you mean about this part? Because I remember having a similar issue on Vista where some programs and files stopped working after I installed The Gimp. Trying to recall how I fixed it...

Yes its working, searched for gimp, found it and installed. For some reason it didnt install straight after download.
