Hi Guys
Been a member for a while, but this is my first post. I learned about TP through one of your mods who is a valued regular community member on my woodworking forum.
I have owned a Nikon D50 for about 6yrs. For one reason and another it never turned into a proper hobby and, although I use the DSLR a lot, I'm still a rank beginner. Getting out of manual mode is a rarity for me. I fail to understand things like Aperture and F-stops. The theory makes sense to me when I read about it, but transferring that into the real world when I'm shooting is another thing.
I want to get into Product Photography for a number of reasons. I'm in the web design trade, so I have clients who need help and advice in this area. I also have some of my own projects which need good product photography. What I mean is, shooting inanimate objects such as mp3 players or coke cans or a wooden bowl. I have a light tent, but I'm still struggling to get good photos.
So I want to learn as much as I can about product photography. Totally immerse myself in information. Good practical information which I can practise and practise until I form a technique.
So can you offer me guidance in this area? Books, websites, videos, etc. Is there a specific website or even forum which covers this.
Any help would be most appreciated.
