Props for photoshoots (help on where to get them)

I have an idea for a shoot i want to try but as its just one that i want to do myself i wont be getting paid for it so dont want to spend alot/anything on the props but i could do with a fireplace surround, longish table, random chairs/stools and silver service cutlery type things

anyone know where i would even start with trying to find this kind of stuff? I have thought charity shops/antique shops but antique (sp) shops would be hellishly expensive and charity shops tend to be just clothes or well local ones to me seem to be anyway.

What about a local drama group? They might have props not in use...

carboots! or.. if you wanted to do it inside then you can probably find most of that already set up in a room at someones house
