Those of you on flickr, can you advise me on how I can protect my images from being nicked(I very much doubt they will, but just incase) dont really like the idea of a watermark.

Any ideas would be great :)

if you don't use watermark, just allow people to view the normal size :)
there's an option for that.

Normal size is good fir that - watermarks look gash. Also, when you import into Lightroom etc, add your copyright into the EXIF.

Also you can make flickr put a transparent picture over yours which makes it more difficult to "save as..."/drag and drop or whatever, I just can't find it now...

Maybe because I've had a few beers, but I've been going over that page for about 10 mins and I can't find any of the options we're talking about

Wasnt just me then!

Nice one Dat, I knew it was there somewhere, need to sleep the beer off...

That's what mine is on, I may change it to allow my contacts to see larger pics.

Changed it to only me, is that right?
Basicly, yes. Choosing that, others will only see the normal-size image of yours.

But you can mark some of your contacts as Your Friends and/or Family, and chose that options. That will allow your friends and your family seeing larger-size image
(Or you can chose that for all your contacts!)

Thanks all, you helpful bunch :)

Is there a way of previewing your profile, to see what it looks like to the outside world?

Log out and search for yourself?

Good idea, images seem quite small ***.

Would someone mind giving my flickr the once over as I would like your thoughts. :)

A link would be helpful

I was wondering how people done that since I set the account up. Got it now, thanks for the info!

How do you add the flickr link like that in your sig?

Jimmy..

Put this in your signature (via the user control panel) and replace the < and > with square brackets..

Thats awesome, many thanks :D

Although can I get it to show below my posts?

I have my copyright set as high as possible, watermark my images, only upload at 800px longest side and also take terrible piccies with no merit at all. The last one is not done on purpose.

I deleted my flickr account I had no idea how to use it properly.

The more options you take away from someone, the less likely it is it will be. It's preventative not comprehensive.

the photos we have in out online store are watermarked, right click disabled, you cant get them via save as, the page isnt cached.. they still end up on facebook.

only takes a printscreen, people dont care what quality they are either generally..
