PS Elements 26 deleting media cache files on Mac

I have PS Elements 26 after using PS and LR for years and read that to improve editing speed I should consider deleting all my Adobe cache and media cache files. I see I have a minimum of 700 media cache and caches files and now very scared of whether I should continue and remove them all. All advice appreciated. I am running a Mac with Sequoia 15.7. OS. I am fully backed up on external disk so should I chance it? :confused:

Edit: I see the cache files include image editing effects in PSE which may used of required. Really don't know what to do.

I have always thought that it was safe to delete Adobe cache files as the programs would renerate the files if required, but I am no longer expert.
