I would like some constructive criticism on the photo. ISO = 100, f/7.1, 1/125, lens efs 18-55 at 55mm, pattern meter mode Canon 600D. Cropped in photoshop cc

I see what you are saying but there was a wall between us and I was resting the camera on top. Also the short grass the puffing is on was approx 10 inches below the edge of rough grass.

Add to that if I had got down low I'd still be there unless someone helped me back up, lol.

June 2018, Sumburgh Head, Shetlands. The puffins were cautious but would land within a few feet of people and stand near to their burrows. Amazing to see them in such numbers.

I would comment that the bird stands out less well against the rock in the second shot, but the colour of the thrift in the second is better.
