Putting an image on another background

I have two pictures I really like that my boyfriend took of me but there were in a cluttered room in our old house. Is there a why I could remove myself from the photo and put it on another background.

I have photoshop CS5 at the moment that I could use?

You can do this - lots of tutorials on the net. Fairly easy to do but not always that easy to make it look good.

Hi Lissa
To replace the background you need to cut yourself out of the image and then move yourself to the new background. The tool needed is 'Extract'. Try Google for CS5 extract.
Not looked at this video but may explain the method.

Advanced hair masking and BG change, CS5 I have seen a really good tutorial better than these, using a multi colour BG, just cant find it at the moment, both good though best watched full screen,

I've just upgraded from CS4 to CS5 student edition and I'm not aware of any features being disabled.

I have worked out how to do it thanks to the helpful advice on this thread I just have to get better at my selection of the image as it isnt perfect at the moment.

Let me know how it goes. I know a few people that use mrclipping and they all rate it very highly. Local tog I know uses it all the time, kinda silly not to really, it's so cheap.
