Putting 'link' in emails

Hi,
Thanks to advice from TP'ers I can add linky's into my posts on here but how do I do it in my emails? I have been given a promo code from my agency which is bloody huge and I would like to shorten it to a linky. Maybe its not all of it? I am using Tiscali webmail and i can't see a way of doing this......

You want to do something like the following:

<a href="URL">link text</a>

So for example:

<a href="http://www.talkphotography.co.uk">Talk Photography</a>

is the equivalent to this (without the spaces) but this will only work on the forum.:

[ URL="http://www.talkphotography.co.uk"]http://www.talkphotography.co.uk[ / URL]

Get it?

It depends on whether Tiscali allow HTML to be sent in emails...

Is there a box on the email writing page with something like a link of a chain, or a world and a piece of chain?

Either of those might allow you to do it.

Have a look for the little 'globe' with a paper clip over it, when you hover the cursor over it, it should say 'insert hyperlink' If you cannot find it, bin Tiscali and go with Yahoo Mail, much better, AND, hyperlinks are allowed!

Hi Guys,
No, nothing matching those descriptions. I could only find one reference to to HTML in the settings which was a tick box for 'send in HTML'. Looks like Yahoo?!

How about using google mail?

Not sure if you can pop3 your Tiscali to Google, but might be worth a try, if it's an important feature?

That should do it. You may find you have some extra styling and link options with that enabled.
